Health and Safety Manager

As the fabrication facility in Espoo, Finland grows, we are looking for a Health and Safety Manager to lead H&S operations and ensure a safe, compliant, and continuously improving working environment.
This position carries overall responsibility for developing and maintaining the company’s health and safety strategy at the fabrication site. The role leads the H&S efforts, fosters a strong safety culture, and ensures that operations meet the highest legal, regulatory, and industry standards. Close collaboration with engineering, facilities, and leadership teams ensures safety remains at the core of daily operations.
What will I be doing?
- Coordinate and oversee Health & Safety activities in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Conduct risk assessments, implement preventive measures, and follow up on actions.
- Drive and promote a proactive safety culture across all levels of the organization.
- Manage training and preparedness for emergency scenarios (fire, gas, chemicals, etc.).
- Liaise with authorities and maintain required documentation (ATEX, RSA, FIOH, Fire Department).
- Develop and maintain H&S policies, procedures, and programs.
- Lead inspections, safety reviews, and root-cause analyses to prevent incidents.
- Report H&S metrics and ensure continuous improvement and accountability.
- Collaborate with HR and Occupational Health to support overall employee well-being.
What skills do I need?
- 7+ years of experience in a senior H&S role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of Finnish H&S legislation and international standards such as ISO 45001.
- Technical or chemical background with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Proven ability to drive safety culture and implement improvements.
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset with a proactive, hands-on approach.
- Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in Finnish and English.
