Manager, U.S. and North America Government Affairs

We are seeking an experienced Manager for U.S. Government Affairs, to join our team and help shape the future of quantum technology policy! The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a US government affairs strategy that aligns with IQM's global business objectives and shaping the growth of the quantum industry.
As a key member of our global affairs team, you will work closely with our leadership, product development, and business development teams to identify and address policy issues that impact our business. You will build and maintain relationships with policymakers, regulatory agencies, trade associations, and think tanks across the globe, with a focus on the USA and transatlantic relations.
What will I be doing?
- Shape and execute IQM’s U.S. policy strategy – Develop and implement a government affairs roadmap that aligns with IQM’s global business objectives and supports the growth of the U.S. quantum ecosystem.
- Build relationships that matter – Engage with policymakers, regulatory agencies, industry associations, and think tanks to promote IQM as a trusted leader in quantum innovation.
- Drive impact through advocacy – Monitor and influence federal and state legislation, draft policy agendas, prepare white papers, and represent IQM in hearings, roundtables, and industry forums.
- Support business growth – Collaborate with internal teams to advance public procurement opportunities and navigate complex policy environments.
What skills do I need?
- Policy expertise with a tech edge – 3–7+ years of experience in government affairs, public policy, lobbying, or related fields, with proven exposure to technology policy.
- Strategic communicator – Strong writing, public speaking, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex policy issues into clear, actionable strategies.
- Global perspective – Familiarity with trade, export control, national security, and international affairs, and the ability to collaborate across legal, technical, and business teams.
- Eligibility for U.S. security clearance – Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance, as this role will engage with sensitive policy areas tied to national security.
