For our office in Paris, IQM France is looking for a Project Manager focusing on applications of quantum computing to support our mission of expanding the frontier of scientific and technological progress in Quantum Computing.

What will I be doing?

You will be setting up and executing projects in the field of applications of quantum computing, which will enable industrial and institutional customers to apply quantum computing to their respective problem domains. You will collaborate closely with IQM’s research and technology team in Paris and across our European sites in Espoo and Munich. The teams you work with can focus on, for example, applications of quantum computing, computing hardware, or algorithm development. You may lead internal development projects or externally funded R&D projects.

Essential Duties

• Identifying project goals, needs, and scope
• Planning, monitoring, controlling, and documenting tasks throughout a project, with a special focus on creating a project budget and following project actuals, ensuring efficient external cost reporting
• Ensuring top-quality results and success for a project, ensuring all tasks, deliverables, and project materials are delivered promptly
• Coordinating project work across different teams so that project goals are met, managing all resources necessary for project execution
• Fostering effective communication with internal and external stakeholders concerning project status; establishing effective change management practices with partners; sharing views about the project goals, progress, and challenges; finding resolutions to roadblocks
• Managing grant-related reporting toward authorities and collaboration partners
• Coaching project team members
• Managing project risks pro-actively, finding mitigation plans and executing them
• Contributing to the continuous development of project management ways of working; collaborating with other project managers to ensure overall company priorities are followed and goals met

What skills do I need?

• M.Sc. in a technical field such as Physics, Electronics, or similar
• At least 3 years of experience in project management; proven track record of successfully leading projects
• Preferably experience in grant programs
• Proactive and customer-oriented attitude
• Excellent organizational skills such as planning and prioritization
• Excellent project communication skills, such as expectation management, risk and change management
• Fluent communication in French and English (verbal and written)
• Willingness to travel
• Project management-related certification is seen as an asset
